I'm traveling quite often to Asia, but never tried Garuda. So this time I flew them from Amsterdam to Jakarta in business class on their 777/300. And, unfortunately, I was not impressed at all. Their cabin in business is 1/2/1 so all have aisle access. The only really positive on this flight was the staff. They were really really friendly. Due to the late cleaning of the airplane, (but I guess that was not the real reason because is that bird nor staying overnight in amsterdam? ) we departed Amsterdam with over an hour delay. So I got a bit worried about my connecting flight to Bali. Anyway, the cabin itself looked and was old. The inflight entertainment system too. Not many films, and just old ones, to choose from. The "live map" blocked so often that I just switched it off. The amenities kits were of very basic, no lipbalm, no socks... The food was delicious but portions were very small, and not possible at all to get extra. The flight was 13 and half hours, the lunch was a very small mushroom soup, small but delicious main course and a small dessert. Halfway the flight a small snack was served, when asking a second one they could not give me since it's the airline's policy just 1 per person. Never experienced this before. Breakfast 2 hours before landing was small as well and not tasty at all. After almost "begging" (in a nice way) I got some extra dish during the flight, but once again, strange policy. So, not really impressed!…
