BEWARE!!! CHARGED to cancel flight for COVID!!!

BEWARE!!! If you get a cheap ticket and end up getting COVID, the airlines will charge you $99 to cancel your flight and then you must rebook to another flight!!!!!

The worst experience, consider other airlines if you can

I missed my flight to Santiago from Miami due to AA delayed my flight to Miami. I got stuck at the Miami airport for 24 hrs without any assistance. Customer service was horrible.

Agreed to refund, 100 days later payment is still awaited!

The flight was delayed by over 12 hours. In mid-September, American Airlines agreed to refund the ticket cost in accordance with international rules. Though a ticket was purchased in the UK, in GBP£ just because my mother has an Indian residence, they insisted they must pay into her Indian Account. All details were provided and they agreed a Rs 55000 and small change was due and will be processed in 45 days. 50 days later, there was no payment, they then stated, that it was 45 business days (not what was stated in their original email). Now over 112 business days later, the payment is still awaited.

Clueless.

Booked my flight through an agent. Tried to upgrade through the agent and they told me I need to upgrade through American Airlines. Called American Airlines, explained the situation and I'm put on hold. 20 mins later, my call is cut off and I'm transferred to another agent. Explained the situation AGAIN and held for ANOTHER 25 minutes. Agent came back to say because I booked through an agent, they can't upgrade me and to try at the airport. I spent a total of 52:47 on the phone, 45 mins of it on hold to be told I can't upgrade!? Surely you know from the outset whether I can upgrade if I told you I booked through an agent. Really clueless staff. Shocked that it is so difficult to give them money.
