Had a gate change and wasn’t even informed about it. Seven of us had to run to our gate and, as the plane was still there, was told that we couldn’t get on and had missed it. Our names weren’t called over the speaker because they “don’t do that anymore” and when going to the desk for help they said it wasn’t their problem that we couldn’t hear the gate change over the speaker (there was a siren or warning over the speakers the whole time for a smoke alarm in a female bathroom). We can’t get our money back. Jetstar sent notifications informing us about gate changes and flight delays- nothing with Virgin. Now have to book an even more expensive flight with Quantas to get home tonight.…

We flew on Virgin Australia twice during our vacation in Australia. We thought the airline did a really good job especially considering the price. The flights were on time, the staff professional and friendly; the planes were clean and as comfortable as could be expected in economy. The luggage policy is clearly stated but was not strictly enforced. We were over the 7kg (15pounds) and we were prepared to put on extra layers of clothing or throw thing out at the gate but had no problems. The only free refreshments are coffee, tea and water. There is no entertainment system so download before flight or bring a book. We read the rules online and knew we only got what we paid for. We would fly Virgin again with no complaint.…

We returned from Bali on a Virgin flight, economy. It would have been fine except that the pilot locked the doors to the toilets for hours during the meal/beverage service. Of course, it wants to sell us a lot of drinks and food, so the flight attendants pushed hte trolleys up and down the only aisle for hours. Just imagine, after drinking all those beverages (we don't drink alcohol) and trying to stay hydrated, as is recommended when flying, to be told you cannot access the loo for hours. We were disgusted.…
