A joint venture between Malaysia-based AirAsia and Thailand’s Asia Aviation, AirAsia Thai (FD) is a low-cost carrier that operates from a primary hub at Bangkok’s Don Mueang International Airport (DMK). Chiang Mai International Airport (CNX), Phuket International Airport (HKT) and Krabi International Airport (KBV) are secondary hubs. The airline’s fleet consists of 44 Airbus A320 variants. AirAsia Thai flies to about 40 destinations, including 18 within Thailand. International destinations include Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Macao, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore and Vietnam.

Flights constantly DELAYED

They can NEVER BE ON TIME. Their flights are consistently delayed and they don't even have the decency to announce it. They are so unprofessional. I have never taken a flight that wasn't delayed; it doesn't matter the destination within Thailand. AirAsia: where “Fragile” means “attempt to destroy”

Bag tagged as fragile so roughly handled that fragile tag completely ripped off, huge permanent red streaks/stains across entire side of black bag, along with rips and punctures. Internal contents crushed. Plus, large sticky spill on seat from previous flight. Seats with inadequate leg room for anyone over 170cm.

Strong earning!

Strong warning for this airline. They are under all critics. They lost our luggage and when the morronds finally find it, they charge 600 baht to have it delivered.

Don’t do it. Spend your money on a full price airline!

Quite honestly one of the most uncomfortable experiences of my life. You know the plastic seats in airport terminals? The hard ones? Those are more comfy than the seats on Thai Airaisa planes. This is fine for an hour or so but don’t make the mistake we did and fly 10hrs with them. Especially if you’re over 5’7. Both flights significantly delayed with zero communication or explanation. From BKK to SYD no water could be taken onboard and refills not available so you had to purchase water or dehydrate. They ran out of most types of food and drink including coffee, tea, Coke Zero, hot meals. I overheard the cabin crew saying that they did not have food to eat. Cabin was alternately very hot and shiveringly cold. No water to flush toilets at one stage. Honestly, I’m just glad we made it home. Don’t do it if your flight is more than 2hrs.

Don’t EVER fly with this airline

Chiang Mai - BangkokDomestic

Travelling with family of 5, we had 3 carry on bags which were around 12kg each. We were pulled aside by flight crews and forced to weigh the bags and been told to remove any excess weight from the 3 bags. We were struggling to find 2 plastic bags to put all the extra weight in and at the end they’re all average out to be 7kg in each bags at the end. The crews would not allowed anything over 7kg each. We felt extremely humiliated by the treatment of the crew and this will go down as one of the worst experience ever. Don’t ever fly with Air A fill in the rest. They tried their best to get any extra money out of us and thank god they failed

This man working at Thai Air Asia airport services in Don Mueang is a gem and has to be protected at all costs. Ran the whole graveyard shift of the Air Asia queries counter all by himself. Also found the time to recommend a good ointment for back pain. Class fella. Mr. Dome. Thank you!
