even at 9am i was sweating within minutes. there is a lot of junk around, but definitely some good deals mixed in.

would have loved to stay all day as it was very interesting, however it was just far too hot to even contemplate. if the heat doesnt bother you, then dont be afraid but if it does just keep in mind you probably wont last long.

also did not like that animals were being sold there, but i was aware in advance and had to turn a blind eye. all in all worth the visit even if i sweat through my clothes

shopping at here is a must when travel in BKK, the price is reasonable and try to bargain. we found that the price of cloths is cheaper than Plantinum and Union Mall.

Took the train from the national stadium, very easy to do and really cheap. The market is very easy to find as the throngs of people walking in the same direction guide you to it. Its a bit hard to find your bearings through the myriad of alleys but free maps are provided and the market is set out in specific areas for specific types of goods. You could spend a lot of time just wondering so go with a purpose and hunt out the specific items you want or if you don't mind the walk just enjoy browsing. Plenty of food stalls and watering holes but the toilets do have an entrance fee!

Unless you are good at bargaining, some of the prices are horrendous including food and beverage prices. You might need to walk a few more stalls to get the best bargain. If you have time, then it's fine otherwise with the hot sun, hugh crowd, you might get put off by the pedestrains knocking into each other.

This is more a tourist catch for their weekend market which is hugh and confusing as the alleys are so small, hardly enough for 3 persons to walk through. After 2 hours, we felt so drained out due to the heat and the smell from the dog's kennel and open drains, not very healthy.

Only plus point , it's very near to the train station and convenient to locate as the crowds will lead you there as it is situated in the park.

Some of the shop keepers are rather sarcastic if your prices are not to their mark and do not want to entertain further. Therefore, be careful with your opening price or else you might get the telling off!

Will not recommend if you have a child with you as it is not very friendly for resting and toilet facilites.

The market is what you see and what you get. Most likely I will not go back again unless you enjoy the open air shopping.
